PAUL ELLIOTT || SENIOR PASTOR Paul became Senior Pastor in September of 2018. An Iowa native, Paul and his wife, Mary are both students at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. He will be continuing to work on his Doctorate of Ministry degree as he serves the Nixa church and while Mary is completing a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He also has degrees from Iowa State University and Phillips Theological Seminary.
Having a first career in retail management and after living in several states, Paul bring his diverse experience to the Nixa congregation. Along with a keen interest in the 21st century church, he is a cat lover.
JANET BAUM || TRADITIONAL WORSHIP LEADER Janet shares in leading traditional worship and directs the choirs. After 36 years of teaching music in public school and directing church choirs, she knows how to motivate children of all ages. She endeavors to help the congregation feel comfortable on Sunday mornings, and makes a point to greet all who attend worship.
The choir meets on Wednesdays evenings from August through May. Their rehearsal combines learning parts and laughter, and concludes with sharing joys and concerns - it’s a family, but new members are always welcome. The handbell choir rehearses as needed to prepare for special events and church holidays.
A native of Illinois, Janet has been with us 6 years. In her spare time she teaches piano and voice. Ask about her talented grandchildren.
SARAH TUTTLE || MOSAIC WORSHIP LEADER Sarah has been on a church worship team and led music with the campus ministry program of MO State at West Plains where she received an Associate’s degree in General Studies. Sarah is married to Daniel - here at NCC three years ago.
Currently working as a paraprofessional in the Springfield school system, Sarah is also attending Columbia College seeking a degree in Human Services. She is a vocalist and guitarist and oversees the Mosaic music, sound, and visuals.
JOSE DELATORRE || YOUTH DIRECTOR Jose learned about a great youth program growing up at NCC, and he brings that enthusiasm to his current responsibilities of guiding our youth events. Taking a break from college, he is working in the local theater world and involved in all levels of production.
Jose also assists with Mosaic (keyboards and vocals), teaches the youth classes, and coordinates special youth events. He says his favorite week of the year is vacation bible school week.
